A public hearing was held Thursday, April 6, 2017 to consider an application for a Special Use Permit to operate a compost transfer at 784 N. Milford Road. This proposal would allow the applicant to accept land waste and other compostable materials at his existing site (where he operates a concrete landscaping business) and move the materials out to a farm where the materials would be processed and refined for use in landscaping and farming. Please note that whereas the ordinance section mentions garbage incineration, only a compost transfer facility is requested. A Special Use Permit would be tailored specifically to limit the applicant/permittee to specific activities as proposed. The draft permit will be considered by the Planning Commission at their April 20, 2017 meeting at 7:30 p.m.
